Student-to-student discourse is a critical component of the vision of K-12 science education outlined in the NRC Framework and within the NGSS PEs pertaining to engaging in argument from evidence. The goal of this session is for attendees to receive strategies to increase student accountable talk and participation during whole and small group discussion. Attendees will walk away with ideas and resources on purpose-driven discourse, student talk activities, and teacher talk moves.
